Bob Patient is an Australian Blues legend who has played and recorded with many of the major Blues artists in Australia. He has toured extensively throughout Australia , Europe and the USA with blues artist Dave Hole for Aligator Records. He is a founding member of the Perth Blues Club and the Club’s musical director. Bob has played with many high profile International artists including, Matt Taylor - Chain, Eugene Hide-away Bridges, Dutch Tilders, Barbara Blue ..to name a few....as well as many local Perth bands including - Fatty Lumpkin, Riddum Shakers and the Zydecats . The GRAIN gives Bob an opportunity to present his brilliant ‘Hammond Organ and Leslie expertise in a setting he loves – the Organ Trio, and contributes vocals.
Garry spent most of his earlier working days in his home town of Melbourne playing the pub and club scene . During that time he enjoyed back to back no 1 hits with The Mixtures (In the summertime / The Pushbike song ) Moving to Perth in the mid 80s, he played with some of the great visiting Jazz and Blues artists including ,- Jimmy Witherspoon -Barney Kessel- Shelia Jordan- James Morrison and local acts Helen Matthews -Dave Hole-The Riddum Shakers and is a regular invited drummer to many concerts of The Perth Blues Club. He also contributes a vocal repertoire to The Grain.
Sue Bluck is a versatile musician currently enjoying a freelance career , and working with The GRAIN. She has consolidated her place as an accomplished musician / singer/ composer and educator in the music industry, in Perth and Sydney, supporting and performing with many dignitaries. Sue has recorded 2 albums of original material of her own, and sang as a guest artist on Bob Patient’s celebrated album- “ Let’s Get Into Trouble”. Sue has recorded many jingles, played and sung on many artists albums , and performed at numerous Festivals , Events and functions, and has enjoyed residencies at The Basement(Sydney) Sheraton,Hilton, Hyatt and Crown Casino. Sue’s Jazz/Blues influenced keyboard and vocals add another dimension to the sound of the Hammond Organ based Trio – replacing the traditional guitar , with a rich colourful blend of Keyboard and Synthesiser sound scapes.
